A personal project
Summer of 2020, I was working as an intern for STEM Kids NYC and learned the basics of Javascript on Code.org. We were then given the following prompt: "Develop an app that addresses a social justice issue of your choice."
Inspired by module style lessons I've taken for work training, I chose to create an app that educates students on the school to prison pipeline.
This was my first experience working with digital design and app development, so this stands as the starting point in my learning process as I refined my skills and understanding of color, typography, and general layouts over the years.
The video below displays a run-through of the app and features I implemented. I created a google drive folder with resources I gathered in my research on the topic for the app. While unfinished, I aimed to lay out the coverage of three topics that would provide a basic understanding of this issue and solutions in an interactive way.
